EasyJet Launches New Direct Flights to Popular Moroccan Destinations
In a significant move showcasing the increasing appeal of Moroccan destinations, EasyJet has announced the launch of two new direct flight routes set to commence in the fall of 2026. These routes will connect Bordeaux to Agadir and Nantes to Essaouira as part of a strategic plan to expand its network within Morocco. This initiative reflects EasyJet's commitment to enhancing air connectivity between Western France and some of Morocco's most prominent tourist locations.
According to an official statement from the company, the new route between Nantes and Essaouira will operate exclusively with a schedule of two flights per week, mirroring the same frequency established for the Bordeaux-Agadir route. This expansion not only strengthens the air links but also aligns with a broader program that includes the addition of six new flight routes to Morocco. This growth comes alongside EasyJet's efforts to solidify its presence in the market, where it currently ranks as the second largest airline in France and the third in Morocco. Furthermore, the recent inauguration of a new operational base in Marrakech in mid-April signals a clear uptick in demand for flights to the kingdom.
Seasonal Routes Transition to Year-Round Services
In addition to the new routes, EasyJet has decided to convert some seasonal flights into year-round services. This includes the direct connections from Lille to Marrakech and Strasbourg to Marrakech, with the first flights under this new program having commenced in early May. This decision is a direct response to the growing interest in travel to the vibrant city known as the 'Red City.' Through these expansions, EasyJet aims to cater to various segments of travelers, whether for leisure or business purposes, while also serving the Moroccan community residing in France, particularly in its western regions.
With these additions, the number of routes operated by EasyJet to Morocco rises to 58, including 30 specifically directed towards Marrakech. This enhancement solidifies Morocco's position as a favored destination for low-cost airlines and European travelers alike, promising an exciting future for both the airline and the region's tourism industry.
