Significant Increase in New Businesses in Fes-Meknes Region
In the year 2025, the Fes-Meknes region witnessed a notable economic dynamism, resulting in the establishment of a total of 7,454 new companies, as reported by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. This surge reflects the region's thriving business environment and the potential for future growth.
The distribution of these new enterprises indicates a balanced mixture of large and small-scale projects, with 4,758 entities registered as corporate bodies and 2,696 as individual businesses. Fes emerged as the leader with 3,350 new companies, followed by Meknes with 2,440, Taza with 528, and other cities such as Sefrou and Taounate contributing 332 and 279 new companies, respectively. However, Boulemane recorded the lowest number with just 135 new registrations.
Sectoral Analysis and Business Structure
When examining the economic sectors, trade dominated the landscape, accounting for 36.21% of the new businesses. Other significant contributors included construction, public works, and real estate, which made up 21.63%, followed by various services at 15.44%. The industrial sector represented 8.30%, with transportation at 6.29%, and the hospitality sector at 6.15%. Agriculture, financial activities, and information technology sectors showed smaller shares, at 2.25%, 1.96%, and 1.78%, respectively.
In terms of legal structure, single-member limited liability companies (SARL-AU) represented the largest share at 59.3%, followed by standard limited liability companies at 40.1%. Other legal forms were negligible, with less than 1% for both anonymous companies and other categories.
On a national scale, the total number of businesses established in Morocco for the year 2025 reached 109,644, comprising 78,615 corporate entities and 31,029 individual ventures. The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region followed as the second highest in terms of new businesses after Casablanca-Settat, with 33,959 new registrations. The regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Marrakech-Safi, and Sous-Massa also contributed significantly, highlighting a robust entrepreneurial spirit across the country.
