The Egyptian football club is set to conclude its training camp in Marrakech, Morocco, today, as it gears up for the upcoming league season. The team will return to Cairo tomorrow, Sunday, just hours after wrapping up their preparations.
In a scheduled meeting, head coach Emad Nassar and team manager Saif Dawood will gather with players and members of the technical and administrative staff to discuss the key positives and negatives of the Moroccan training camp. This meeting will also serve to outline the final phase of their preparation program, which will commence on Monday in Cairo and run until their opening match against Smouha next Saturday at the Suez Stadium, part of the first round of the league.
The Moroccan camp has revealed Nassar's intention to gradually integrate new signings into the squad, while maintaining most of the core players expected to compete in the initial matches of the season against Smouha, Arab Contractors, and Pyramids. This cautious approach aims to mitigate any negative impacts that might arise from the new players' acclimatization to the league's intense atmosphere and the specific playing conditions at the Suez Stadium.
The head coach is optimistic about the physical condition of the players, crediting the successful physical training program undertaken during the camps in Port Fouad, Cairo, Ismailia, and Morocco. Players have shown promising physical and technical performances during the friendly matches played in preparation for the new season.
On another note, the club's management has closed the chapter on new signings, feeling satisfied with the contracts finalized during the summer transfer window. Any further moves to strengthen the team will be postponed until the winter transfer window in January.
The management and coaching staff have decided to rely on the current roster of players, which includes four goalkeepers: Mohamed Sihha, Mahmoud Hamdy, Essam Tharwat, and Mohamed Shehata, alongside rising star and impressive young goalkeeper Ahmed Wahab.
