Elbit Systems Unveils Cutting-Edge Drones and Munitions at Marrakech Air Show

The Israeli defense electronics group Elbit Systems, which is publicly traded in Tel Aviv and New York, is set to present its Hermes 900 drone along with an extensive array of autonomous systems, precision munitions, electronic warfare equipment, and intelligence solutions at the Marrakech Air Show. This event, scheduled from October 7 to October 10, marks Elbit's debut at a military exhibition that has become a significant occasion in the Israeli arms industry within Morocco.

Hosted by the Royal Moroccan Air Forces (FRA), the air show will feature the Hermes 900, one of Elbit’s most renowned drones, alongside autonomous platforms from the THOR, Magni-X, and FireFox-X families, which were developed by Elbit's innovation arm, FUSE. The strike capabilities on display will include the SkyStriker loitering munition, the PULS multiple rocket launcher, and the laser-guided Lizard precision munition, all designed for armed forces seeking long-range firepower and targeted strikes.

Innovative Surveillance and Training Solutions

In addition, Elbit will showcase its airborne self-protection systems, prominently featuring the Mini-MUSIC directed energy infrared countermeasure, which is designed to deceive infrared-guided missiles. The company will also present its intelligence and optronics equipment, displayed alongside airborne communication solutions and training tools.

A notable highlight in the intelligence segment will be the Spectro-12, the latest addition to the Spectro family of multispectral payloads for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and target designation. Furthermore, Elbit plans to emphasize its airborne communication and digitization technologies, pilot training tools, and simulation equipment intended for flight schools.

Elbit will be joined at the air show by four other Israeli companies participating in the 2026 edition: Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), a public aerospace manufacturer; Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, a public company specializing in missiles; drone manufacturer Xtend; and loitering munition expert UVision. IAI is reported to have participated in key Moroccan air defense programs, including the Barak 8 and Barak MX systems.

This increased presence underscores the strengthening military ties between Morocco and Israel since the normalization of relations in December 2020 under the Abraham Accords. In 2021, Morocco and Israel signed a memorandum of understanding for defense cooperation, which has reportedly led to several arms contracts, including the acquisition of Elbit’s Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 drones, artillery systems, and various other equipment.
