Emergency Turnaround: Air France Flight from Paris to Rabat Diverts Due to Suspicious Odor

On the evening of April 12, 2026, an Air France flight destined for Rabat from Paris had to make an emergency return shortly after takeoff due to the detection of a suspicious odor in the cabin. The Airbus A220-300, operating flight AF1358, departed from Charles de Gaulle Airport at 21:03. Approximately thirty minutes into the flight, while flying over southern France near Tours, the crew decided to turn back.

According to Air France, the decision was prompted by a "pungent smell" noticed in the cabin. Following established safety protocols, the flight crew initiated emergency procedures, resulting in a swift turnaround. The aircraft landed back at Charles de Gaulle Airport without incident at 22:06.

Upon arrival, passengers were taken care of and provided accommodation while arrangements were made for their prompt rerouting to the Moroccan capital. Air France assured that efforts were underway to ensure passengers reached their destination as soon as possible.
