Emerging Leaders and New Faces: The RNI Unveils Candidate List for Upcoming Elections

RNI Announces Its Candidates for the Upcoming Legislative Elections

On Friday, the National Rally of Independents (RNI) officially announced its list of candidates for the anticipated legislative elections scheduled for September 23. This announcement comes after the party's national election committee approved the candidates, showcasing a significant renewal with over 36% new faces on the list. Among these candidates, four are current ministers representing the same political framework.

Mohamed Chouki, the president of the RNI, which leads the current government coalition, emphasized the strong representation of youth and women in the nominations, highlighting them as pillars of the party's commitment to inclusivity. He stated that the foundation of these selections was rooted in proximity to citizens, active listening to their concerns, and a well-rounded engagement with their needs. This approach reflects the party's dedication to renewing leadership and relying on competencies and accumulated experiences as a central criterion for nominations.

Regional Candidate Selections Across Morocco

In the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the party has nominated Rashid Talbi Alami for the Tetouan constituency, alongside other notable candidates including Mohamed Simou for Larache, Ahmed Bouari for Ouezzane, and others across various constituencies in the region. Meanwhile, in the eastern region, candidates like Ridwan Benhamad for Figuig and Abdullah Boukili for Driouch have been put forward, with the national election committee still finalizing nominations in three additional electoral districts in the area, notably in Nador, Jerada, and Oujda – Angad.

In the Fez-Meknes region, the RNI's list includes Zina Shahim for Southern Fez, Abdelkhaleq Mbarouk for Moulay Yacoub, and several others representing different constituencies. Similarly, in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the nominations feature Abdel Salam Bouirmane for Khmissat and Al Mass, Hassan Filali for Tiflet, and numerous candidates across the region's constituencies, reflecting a broad strategy to ensure representation across various demographics.

As part of its commitment to regional representation, candidates have also been selected in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, the Casablanca-Settat region, and others, showcasing a diverse array of individuals ready to take on the responsibilities of leadership. This holistic approach not only addresses the immediate political landscape but also aligns with the RNI’s vision for a more inclusive and representative government.
