3,000 School Bags Distributed to Needy Students in Jerusalem
The Jerusalem Fund Agency, under the auspices of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI, has initiated a significant initiative by distributing over 3,000 school bags filled with essential stationery to students in need across Jerusalem and its surrounding areas on the eve of the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative is part of the broader social and economic integration program in the city and is aligned with the agency's integrated plan to support education for the period of 2027-2030. The initiative is generously funded by the municipality of Fez and the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine.
The distribution campaign commenced in the village of Nabi Samuel and extended to include the town of Silwan along with its educational and charitable institutions. It also reached areas such as Al-Ram, Jaba, Bab Al-Amoud, the Old City, Al-Mazra’a, Al-Tur, Bab Al-Sahira, Beit Hanina, and the refugee camps of Shufat and Qalandiya, as well as Al-Jadira, Bir Nabala, and Al-Eizariya. This initiative specifically targets students from lower-income families, orphans, and those with disabilities in both primary and secondary education. Each school bag contains fundamental school supplies, such as notebooks, pens, and drawing materials.
Local parents and officials have expressed their gratitude towards King Mohammed VI and Morocco for this generous support. The agency previously announced on July 15, 2026, in Ramallah, the main components of its integrated program for the period from 2027 to 2030. This includes enhancing the school environment, expanding scholarship opportunities, supporting emerging student projects, and preserving the Palestinian identity.
