Enhancing Industrial Zones: The Marrakech-Safi Investment Center's Initiative
The Regional Investment Center in the Marrakech-Safi region has taken significant steps to enhance industrial zones by facilitating an exchange of expertise aimed at improving the management and development of these areas. Recently, the center organized a field visit for the Association of Investors from the Sidi Bou Othmane industrial zone to the Maghougha industrial area in Tangier. This visit is part of a broader program designed to share experiences and best practices in industrial zone management.
During this visit, participants were introduced to the successful model of the Maghougha Industrial Zone Association (AZIT), which is recognized for its effective governance in managing industrial zones. The association showcased various services it provides to investors, alongside the mechanisms for managing shared facilities, all of which contribute to creating a better business environment and increasing the attractiveness of the region for industrial investments.
The agenda also included technical discussions and working sessions that addressed several priority topics. Among these were industrial waste management, strategies for enhancing essential services within industrial zones, and methods for improving management quality and working conditions for enterprises. This collaborative approach emphasizes the importance of addressing critical issues that impact industrial operations and sustainability.
Additionally, the visiting delegation toured several industrial units, observing successful management and production models. Presentations were made regarding projects supported by the Sustainable Industrial Zones Fund (FONZID), which plays a crucial role in developing infrastructure, upgrading industrial spaces, and enhancing sustainability standards, thereby improving the reception conditions for investors.
This initiative aligns with the strategy adopted by the Marrakech-Safi Regional Investment Center to encourage the exchange of experiences among economic actors and foster a culture of cooperation among professional associations. Such efforts are essential to keep pace with the transformations occurring in the industrial sector, enhance the appeal of industrial zones in the region, and support their capacity to attract new investments, create job opportunities, and achieve sustainable economic development.
