During the conference, Al-Shuhubi, who also presides over the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, emphasized the importance of narrowing the gaps among member states. He pointed out that several nations require technical support and capacity building as part of the initiative titled 'Leaving No Country Behind.' His address also showcased the efforts made by the Government of National Unity in developing airport infrastructure, modernizing systems and legislation, and enhancing operational frameworks. These improvements aim to elevate performance efficiency and ensure compliance with international standards.
On the sidelines of the symposium, Al-Shuhubi engaged with various officials, including ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, to discuss the outcomes of collaboration with the Technical Cooperation Office. He also held a meeting with the Regional Office Director in Cairo, Muhammad Rahma, where the focus was on expediting the completion of assessment reports and audits related to Libyan civil aviation. This initiative plays a crucial role in clarifying oversight levels and bolstering confidence in the safety and security systems in place.
