The festival season in Morocco extends well beyond summer. From October to March, the country transforms its backdrop: stages move from the beaches to darkened halls, medinas, and the doors of the desert.
This calendar collates festivals with officially announced dates, organized month by month and city by city. It is continuously updated as new announcements are made: a festival only enters this list once its dates are confirmed. Film festivals listed are noted separately under the provisional calendar by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center, pending confirmation.

Festivals in Morocco for October 2026
October is the busiest month of autumn, with cinema taking center stage across the regions from the North to the Oriental, including Souss and Fes. Music, dance, and photography also have their dedicated slots in this vibrant month.
MOGA Festival, Essaouira: September 30 to October 4
The electronic music festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in Essaouira. The week kicks off with two free days in the city on September 30 and October 1, followed by three paid nights from October 2 to 4 at Le Golf Hotel in Essaouira, Diabat. Artists such as Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, ANOTR, and Rhadoo are set to perform, with entry restricted to those aged 18 and above.

Mediterranean Film Festival of Tétouan: October 3 to 10
The 31st edition brings together films from both shores of the Mediterranean in Tétouan. The competition juries were announced mid-September.
International Cultural Moussem of Assilah: October 2 to 18
The 47th edition of the Assilah Moussem is set to take place for two and a half weeks, featuring visual arts, music, and discussions. This northern white city has been hosting this event since the late 1970s.
Marrakech Photography Meetings: October 7 to 10
Celebrating its 6th edition, the meetings honor the bicentennial of photography with the theme “1826-2026: Two Centuries of Light.” Italy is the guest of honor, featuring artists like Massimo Listri and Graziano Arici. The program will also showcase the exhibition “Crossed Views China-Morocco” and the presentation of the Yzza Slaoui Discovery Award.

Fes Festival of Sufi Culture: October 17 to 24
The 18th edition features a week-long celebration of Sufi music concerts and discussions on global wisdom in the spiritual capital of the kingdom.
Marrakech Folklore Days: October 22 to 25
The 8th edition will gather over 640 Moroccan and international artists from more than twenty countries across Europe, Africa, the Arab world, and Latin America. For four days, delegates will take over M Avenue, Jemaa el-Fna, and several historical sites in the city, showcasing traditional costumes, music, and dance. Organized by the Heritage and Folklore Association, this edition will also feature a masterclass focused on Moroccan Jewish culture, themed “From the Roots of History to the Bridges of the Future.”

Marrakech Jazz Experience: October 30 to November 1
This new addition to the calendar marks its inaugural edition at M Avenue. During the day, masterclasses and conferences are free to access, and free concerts will enliven M Square from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. In the evening, three concerts will be held at the Théâtre Meydene: Urban Folklore on October 30, Othman El Kheloufi on October 31, and Axel Camil Hachadi on November 1.
Moussem de Tan-Tan: October 30 to November 3
Recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, the moussem gathers nomadic tribes from the Sahara around Hassani traditions, including poetry, songs, camel races, and craftsmanship. This 19th edition will take place from October 30 to November 3.

November is dedicated to cinema, highlighted by the International Film Festival of Marrakech. Meanwhile, Rabat will host music professionals for Visa for Music.
Visa for Music, Rabat: November 18 to 21
The 13th edition of the market for African and Middle Eastern music will feature artist showcases and professional forums. The programming has yet to be announced.
International Film Festival of Marrakech: November 20 to 28
The 23rd edition brings global cinema back to Marrakech for nine days. The jury composition and selection have not yet been announced; this page will be updated as soon as they are published.

Festivals in Morocco for December 2026
In December, festivals head south. The desert will host two events just days apart, between M’Hamid El Ghizlane and Zagora.
Zamane Festival, M’Hamid El Ghizlane: December 3 to 6
The 5th edition of this music festival takes place at the gates of the Sahara, initiated by the Joudour Sahara association.
Trans-Saharan International Film Festival, Zagora: December 6 to 11
The festival celebrates its 20th edition in Zagora, at the edge of the desert.
International Documentary Film Festival of Khouribga: December 23 to 26
The 17th edition concludes the year in cinema with a program fully dedicated to documentaries.
Marrakech English Book Festival: January 15 to 17, 2027
This literary festival, held every two years, is set for its 3rd edition between Riad el Bacha and Dar Bellarj. It commemorates 20 years of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, featuring an opening conference with Fleur Montanaro and Yassin Adnan, along with the presentation of the Marrakech English Book Award. Ticket sales will open in December.

National Film Festival, Tangier: March 2027
Initially scheduled for late October, the 26th edition of the National Film Festival has been postponed to March 2027, as announced by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center on September 1. Exact dates are yet to be published.
