Experience Japanese Culture at 'Manga F'lmdina' in Casablanca

Manga F'lmdina: A Cultural Journey in Casablanca

The vibrant program "Morocco, Land of Cultures" is making a grand return for its fourth edition, this time embracing the rich cultural tapestry of Japan. Organized by the Collectif 4.0 in collaboration with the Al Mada Foundation, the event titled "Manga F'lmdina" invites families to dive into an immersive experience that beautifully intertwines manga, arts, and Japanese traditions. This engaging cultural gathering is set to take place on April 25 at the Villa des Arts in Casablanca, promising a delightful afternoon from 3 PM to 6 PM.

In a notable shift from previous editions that celebrated Moroccan culture, this year’s event welcomes international influences, focusing on the captivating world of Japanese manga. The Collectif 4.0 has designed this experience with families in mind, ensuring it is both entertaining and educational.

Held on the scenic esplanade of the Villa des Arts, attendees will find a plethora of activities that allow for continuous participation. Among the offerings are workshops on traditional Japanese arts such as origami and calligraphy, where visitors can learn the delicate techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Pop culture enthusiasts will also find their niche, with dedicated areas for manga drawing, coloring, and DIY creations. A professional mangaka will be present to provide personalized caricatures, while a makeup booth will allow children to embody their favorite characters from popular manga series.

Adding to the communal spirit of the event, the “Swap ton manga” initiative encourages participants to bring their previously read Japanese comics for trading. This exchange fosters a collaborative atmosphere, allowing attendees to discover new titles while connecting with fellow manga fans.

Beyond the workshops and interactive spaces, a reading corner will feature a selection of manga available for leisurely browsing, and demonstrations of traditional martial arts will further enhance the cultural immersion. The presence of cosplayers will surely delight attendees, encouraging children to dress up and fully engage in this unique cultural escapade without leaving Casablanca.

This edition of "Morocco, Land of Cultures" reaffirms its commitment to fostering dialogue between cultures and providing accessible experiences for everyone. Scheduled to occur on the last Saturday of each month until June 2026, this initiative is designed to promote cultural exchange and discovery, driven by the dynamic efforts of the Collectif 4.0.

With an affordable entry fee of 50 dirhams for the entire family, "Manga F'lmdina" promises to be a moment of shared joy and exploration at the crossroads of Moroccan and Japanese cultures.
