Experience the Flavors of Morocco at 'Le Palme di Marrakech' in Reggio Emilia

Discover the Essence of Moroccan Cuisine

In the heart of Reggio Emilia, a unique dining experience awaits at 'Le Palme di Marrakech', a restaurant that transports guests straight to Morocco, evoking the enchanting atmospheres of Fez and Marrakech. Opened last October on Viale Regina Margherita, this establishment invites patrons to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Morocco. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by the warm hospitality of the owners, Brahim Hadrami and his wife Nadia, who are passionate about sharing their culinary heritage with the community.

The couple's journey began on Via Roma, where they ran a successful food venture that introduced locals to the exquisite flavors of Moroccan cuisine, particularly their renowned beef tagine. "Our beginnings on Via Roma were significantly supported by the association Via Roma Zero, which helped increase awareness of our dishes," Brahim and Nadia explain. They decided to invest in Reggio Emilia because they have always felt welcomed here. Brahim, aged 45, has extensive culinary experience gained from working in various establishments in Carpi. He shares, "My wife lived in Reggio Emilia, and I moved here after our marriage in 2018. The dishes that Reggiani love the most include beef tagine with prunes, couscous with vegetables and meat, which we have affectionately renamed 'Palme di Marrakech', and couscous Tfaya, featuring caramelized onions and dried grapes with chicken. We also serve a fish pastilla filled with shrimp, cod, and squid, and a dish dedicated to my grandmother: Rfissa, made with lentils and onions served with msemen, a traditional Moroccan layered bread."

A Culinary Journey Through Moroccan Culture

Brahim has been living in Italy since 1999 and has called Carpi home until he moved to Reggio Emilia after his marriage. Before entering the restaurant business, he owned a transportation company. Realizing Nadia's desire to start her own venture, they took over a small shop on Via Roma, which allowed them to establish a fast-food style dining experience. However, with limited seating, they soon recognized the need for a larger space to accommodate more guests. "We found this location on Viale Regina Margherita, which seemed perfect for us. I traveled to Morocco to source all the furnishings, recreating a style that seamlessly blends Marrakech and Fez. The restaurant is called 'Palme di Marrakech' because this city is famous for its palm trees. Visitors here can truly savor the essence of Moroccan culture in an immersive environment," Brahim adds.

At 'Le Palme di Marrakech', the family atmosphere extends beyond just the husband and wife duo, as other relatives also contribute to the restaurant's operations. The venue is thoughtfully divided into two levels: the upper floor features the restaurant where guests can enjoy the delectable dishes, while the lower level presents a serene Berber-themed room adorned with warm tones and natural materials, designed for relaxation and to offer a genuine Moroccan experience for gatherings or leisurely moments. "We are thrilled to be here; we have started quite well, but we aspire to grow further and introduce our culinary delights to other cities," reveals Brahim.
