Temporary Changes to Train Operations Announced
The National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced temporary adjustments to several train services scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026. These changes are necessary due to ongoing construction associated with the high-speed rail project connecting Kenitra and Marrakech, as well as work on the conventional rail lines. In a statement released on August 31, the ONCF outlined that the temporary measures will be in effect from 11 PM on Saturday, September 5, until 11 PM on Sunday, September 6. During this period, shuttle trains between Casablanca and Settat will be suspended, and passengers will be redirected to Atlas trains. Additionally, train services to Mohammed V Airport will be halted and replaced by "Supratours" buses.
Moreover, shuttle services between Casablanca and El Jadida will be restricted to the Bouskoura station, while trains arriving from Khouribga will stop at Berrechid station, where passengers can continue their journeys via Atlas trains. The direct train service linking Safi and Casablanca will also be suspended, and delays and changes in the travel times for Atlas trains are expected. The ONCF indicated that a second phase of adjustments will commence on September 14, coinciding with the next stage of construction for the high-speed line between Kenitra and Marrakech. This phase will introduce a new transport plan, featuring alterations to certain routes and schedules, as well as the gradual closure of several stations, including the colleges and the Nassim stations.
Details of the new schedule and its implications for various routes are set to be announced on September 7. Passengers are advised to check their train schedules prior to traveling through the ONCF website and the "ONCF VOYAGES" app, as well as other official channels.
