Experience the Magic of Desert Blues at the Water and Sound Festival

Celebrate Music at the Water and Sound Festival

The much-anticipated Water and Sound Festival is set to take place at the scenic Kuhsee, promising an exhilarating musical experience on July 24th. As the name suggests, the festival is a celebration of both water and sound, with the beautiful Kuhsee serving as the perfect backdrop for this vibrant event. Starting at 8 PM, attendees will be treated to performances by the Moroccan ensemble Daraa Tribes and the Moroccan-Brazilian singer Lala Tamar, all free of charge. Daraa Tribes, hailing from Tagounite in southern Morocco, brings a unique fusion of Gnawa, Sahraoui, Amazigh, Regada, and Ikaaba music, interwoven with elements of blues and rock. Their captivating vocals, delivered in Darija, Hassani, and Tamazight, are backed by driving percussion that promises to transport listeners to another world.

Joining them on stage is the talented Lala Tamar, a singer, songwriter, poet, and guimbri player who revitalizes the musical heritage of Jewish-Moroccan women with her contemporary voice. Tamar's performances are a rich tapestry of languages, including Haketía, Arabic (Darija), Amazigh, Portuguese, and Hebrew. She seamlessly blends North African rhythms with Brazilian grooves, pop elements, and improvisational segments, creating a dynamic sound that resonates with diverse audiences. Opening the festival will be Picky Eater, an innovative rock band from Augsburg, known for their quirky style that fuses grunge, jazzy riffs, and glam rock with art-rock nuances. They will take the stage at 6:30 PM, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.

A Night with Chris de Burgh: A Gentleman's Touch

In a separate musical highlight, the beloved pop icon Chris de Burgh will grace the Kongress am Park, offering fans an enchanting summer night filled with his timeless hits. De Burgh, known for his gentlemanly demeanor and heartfelt melodies, creates an intimate atmosphere with his performances. His minimal stage presence allows the music to shine, as he introduces his fellow musicians with thoughtful simplicity. Referring to them as 'friends', he emphasizes the camaraderie and mutual respect shared on stage, creating a connection with the audience that transcends typical concert experiences. Many regard de Burgh as a virtuoso of the jazz guitar, and his performances are sure to resonate deeply with all who attend.
