Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the president of the Popular Party (PP), has emphasized his commitment to national security by recalling his multiple visits to Ceuta in the aftermath of the Moroccan invasion. He criticized Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for his comments during informal discussions after the October 12 parade, where Sánchez described the invasion days as "very difficult." Feijóo pointedly remarked that it is disrespectful for the Prime Minister to take a 25-day vacation in La Mareta during such critical times, highlighting a disconnect with the citizens' experiences.

In his statements, Feijóo referenced Article 8 of the Spanish Constitution, which assigns the military the responsibility of ensuring national territorial integrity. He argued that the government should have proactively alerted the public about the situation in Ceuta, especially since both the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and the National Police's Immigration Office were aware of the impending crisis. He asserted that, had the government acted on this intelligence, deploying the military to the border would have been a logical and necessary step to safeguard the nation.

Feijóo firmly believes that military deployment is essential for the protection of Spain's borders, a stance he considers a constitutional duty for anyone aspiring to lead the government. He also expressed confusion regarding the government's decision to downplay the presence of Moroccan frigates during the Ceuta invasion, suggesting that transparency is crucial in matters of national security.
