Fes Hosts the Final of the AI Ramadan Hackathon

The Mediterranean University of Fes recently served as the venue for the regional final of the "AI Ramadan Hackathon," a program aimed at fostering innovation in artificial intelligence. This exciting event saw participation from students, project holders, and young entrepreneurs, all focused on developing technological solutions that address local challenges. The organization of this hackathon falls under the initiatives led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform as part of the "AI Made in Morocco" and "Digital Morocco 2030" strategies.

This hackathon is one of several being held across various regions of Morocco during the month of Ramadan, designed to engage Moroccan talent in creating innovative AI solutions to promote local development. During the event, participants tackled a range of priority topics including smart mobility, environmental quality, air quality, energy, green spaces, tourism, heritage, access to water and sanitation, digitization of public services, digital inclusion, waste management, and improving quality of life.

In a press statement, Akram Oukri, a coach and expert involved in the program, emphasized that this initiative provides a significant opportunity for youth to stimulate their ideas and develop innovative projects. He elaborated that the hackathon focuses on two main axes: the first is supporting project holders in utilizing AI tools to accelerate the development of their prototypes, while the second concerns the integration of this technology into projects to enhance their innovation and competitiveness.
