Festival JIDAR 2026 Invites Young Artists to Participate in the Collective Wall Project
As the JIDAR – Rabat Street Art Festival approaches its 11th edition, slated for April 16 to April 27, 2026, the festival continues to champion the burgeoning talents within the Moroccan art scene by launching a call for participation in its iconic project, the "Collective Wall." Designed as a true artistic laboratory, this initiative offers young creators a unique platform for experimentation right in the heart of Rabat. Whether you are a student from an art school, an emerging artist, or simply a fan of urban culture, this project presents a collective experience centered around the creation of a monumental mural.
From April 20 to April 26, 2026, twelve selected participants will have the invaluable opportunity to collaborate on a large-scale artwork in a setting that promotes exchange, learning, and technical exploration. Continuing the tradition of previous editions, the theme of mentorship remains at the forefront of this initiative. This year, the young artists will be guided by BAKR, a prominent artist born in 1995 who has developed a distinctive style that blends traditional artistic heritage with contemporary urban aesthetics.
Having trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Casablanca and influenced by classical teachings in Fès under the master El Ghiati, BAKR embodies a generation of artists adept at merging academic techniques with the expressive forms of street art. Participating in the Collective Wall represents a unique chance for young creators to receive professional artistic mentorship while collaborating with fellow artists from various regions across Morocco. This immersive experience within the festival's atmosphere also allows participants to gain insights into the event's behind-the-scenes workings and, for some, to envisage future involvement in the festival's official programming.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications online by completing the designated form. Applicants must be available in Rabat from April 20 to April 26, 2026. The application dossier should include the completed form along with a portfolio (either in PDF format or via an online link). The deadline for submissions is set for midnight on April 5, 2026, with only twelve participants selected to ensure an optimal environment for collaboration and creation.
