Festival of Two Shores Returns to Rabat
The Lycée Descartes in Rabat proudly announces the return of the Festival of Two Shores, an event that aims to foster a vibrant artistic dialogue between French and Moroccan cultures. Scheduled to take place from April 17 to April 19, 2026, this festival promises an exhilarating platform for students, professional artists, and the general public to celebrate their passion for the performing arts. Following the resounding success of its inaugural edition, the festival has planned two captivating evenings that will unfold in two iconic venues across the capital city.
Highlighting Diverse Performances
The festival will kick off on Friday, April 17, at 8 PM, with a spectacular performance titled "Offenbach Forever" at the Mohammed V National Theatre. This musical, crafted by the talented Jean-Marc Biskup and set to the enchanting music of Jacques Offenbach, pays tribute to the creator of operetta and captures the vibrant Parisian life of the late 19th century. Following this, on Saturday, April 18, at 8 PM, the INSMAC Auditorium will host the talented Jalil Tijani, a former student of the Lycée Descartes, presenting his one-man show "Habitus." This performance humorously delves into our daily habits, conditioning, and stereotypes, promising an entertaining experience for all.
Beyond these public performances, the festival will also offer a series of artistic workshops in areas such as acting, mime, improvisation, vocal training, and physical theatre. These workshops will be facilitated by professional artists from both sides of the Mediterranean, specifically designed for students enrolled in theatre options at French high schools in Morocco. The festival will culminate on Sunday, April 19, with a showcase of the workshop results followed by an awards ceremony celebrating the participants' achievements. This initiative enjoys support from various institutional and private partners, including AEFE, the Ministry of Culture, Royal Air Maroc, and Crédit du Maroc.
