Official Announcement of Legislative Election Results
The Ministry of Interior has officially announced the final results of the legislative elections that were held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. These results fully align with the preliminary general results previously disclosed. This announcement follows the completion of vote counting by regional and local committees, which prepared the official reports regarding the election.
According to a statement from the Minister of Interior, the counting committees, led by judges across various provinces and regions, have finalized their processes. They have submitted copies of the reports to the Constitutional Court, in accordance with the current legislative provisions.
As per the disclosed final results, the Authenticity and Modernity Party emerged as the leading political party, securing 97 seats. Following them was the National Rally of Independents with 66 seats, and the Istiqlal Party with 65 seats. The Justice and Development Party came in fourth, obtaining 54 seats.
The Popular Movement Party ranked fifth with 29 seats, succeeded by the Socialist Union of Popular Forces with 26 seats, the Progress and Socialism Party with 19 seats, and the Constitutional Union with 17 seats. Additionally, the Democratic Social Movement and the Left Alliance each secured 8 seats. The Democratic Forces Front and the Justice Party each obtained 2 seats, while the New Democrats and the Unity and Democracy Party garnered 1 seat each.
In terms of candidates' rights, the Minister of Interior reminded that Article 86 of the organic law concerning the House of Representatives allows each candidate to access the reports from polling stations and central committees for a full eight days from the date of their submission during official working hours. Furthermore, the law permits candidates who have contested their election to review the electoral operation reports and obtain copies within eight days of receiving the contestation petition, following the legally specified conditions and procedures.
The announcement of the final results follows the completion of official counting operations while awaiting the resolution of legal procedures related to electoral appeals, in accordance with the legislation governing the election of members of the House of Representatives.
