Resumption of Flights from Dubai to Morocco
According to well-informed sources within Royal Air Maroc, the airline has temporarily suspended flights to Arab countries affected by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran. This suspension particularly impacts routes between Morocco and both Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. However, there is a notable exception: a single flight from Dubai to Morocco is scheduled for this Wednesday evening. This flight aims to return Moroccan citizens currently stranded in the UAE back to their home country, marking the only operational service in this direction for the time being.
Travel Restrictions Amid Regional Turmoil
The spokesperson elaborated that flights to and from Doha remain suspended due to the unstable situation in the Middle East, which has been exacerbated by the ongoing conflict. Prior to this turmoil, flights between Moroccan airports and Hamad International Airport in Qatar were conducted daily, allowing for seamless travel between the two nations. In an earlier statement, the same source indicated that flights to and from Dubai were also affected, with two flights canceled last Saturday due to the outbreak of hostilities in the region. Furthermore, regular flights to Doha have been halted since that date, as safety concerns for travelers remain a priority for Royal Air Maroc.
Regarding other destinations like Manama and Kuwait, it was reported that there were no existing flights to these countries, hence they are unaffected by the current situation. In managing this crisis, Royal Air Maroc has assured travelers that their rights to seats and travel will be upheld once the situation stabilizes, and airspace is reopened. The spokesperson emphasized the necessity of a gradual approach to reinstate delayed flights, particularly for the Casablanca-Doha route, where daily delays mean a growing backlog of passengers waiting for resolution. Therefore, it becomes imperative to devise a careful plan to address the needs of travelers once hostilities cease.
