France Commends Morocco's Agricultural Innovations
During a high-level international conference held in Meknès, French Minister of Agriculture, Food and Sovereignty, Annie Genevard, praised Morocco's advancements under its "Generation Green" strategy for the years 2020 to 2030. The conference, part of the 18th International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), which runs until April 28, focused on the theme of sustainability in animal production and food sovereignty. Genevard expressed that these developments provide a solid foundation for further strengthening the bilateral partnership between France and Morocco, particularly in areas such as research, training, genetics, and the development of agricultural sectors.
In her address, she highlighted several common priorities that include securing animal feed, modernizing and professionalizing farms, enhancing genetic improvement, structuring agricultural sectors, and adapting to changing consumption patterns. Genevard also emphasized that transforming the agricultural sector requires a joint mobilization of farmers, researchers, and public stakeholders, stressing the essential role of international cooperation in fostering sustainable solutions.
Concluding her remarks, she asserted that France, Morocco, and other African nations stand to benefit significantly by uniting their efforts to create more sustainable, competitive, and collaborative animal production sectors. This significant meeting, focusing on animal production and the transformation of food systems, brought together numerous high-profile political figures, decision-makers, representatives from international organizations, experts, researchers, and industry professionals, affirming its role as a strategic platform for dialogue and reflection on the future of agriculture.
