The Grand Return of the Casablanca Marathon
The highly anticipated Casablanca Marathon is set to make a spectacular comeback on October 25th, marking its 17th edition under the vibrant theme of "Vibe Casa." This esteemed event, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will once again be organized by the Association of Runners of Greater Casablanca (ACGC), receiving robust support from local authorities for the second consecutive year.
Embracing the Spirit of Casablanca
This new edition aspires to establish the Casablanca Marathon as a premier sporting and popular event, reflecting the lively, open, and cosmopolitan nature of the metropolis. The organizers aim to gradually position the marathon among the leading running events in Morocco, Africa, and on an international scale. The "Vibe Casa" concept embodies energy, movement, and diversity, drawing directly from the identity of Casablanca. On October 25th, the city will transform into a vibrant arena of sport and celebration, with the race route passing through several iconic sites, showcasing urban heritage, major thoroughfares, and the coastal facade. To enhance the atmosphere, concerts and entertainment will accompany the race, inviting the people of Casablanca to participate and experience the city at the rhythm of the marathon.
Bouchta El Fadel, president of the ACGC, expressed the ambition of making the Casablanca Marathon a significant event in the city, where athletic performance meets the energy and identity of Casablanca. "The 'Vibe Casa' is about uniting around a shared experience, showcasing the metropolis in a new light, and carrying its energy far beyond the finish line," he stated.
Participants can choose from three events: a full marathon of 42.195 km, a half marathon of 21.097 km, and a relay of 4 × 10.5 km, allowing individuals to engage with the event according to their level, goals, or simply the desire to share the experience as a team.
In the week leading up to the race, the Marathon Village will extend this dynamic with animations, meetings, partner spaces, and activities open to athletes, families, and the general public. With the prestigious Elite label from World Athletics, the 17th edition aims to reach new heights, targeting a record number of participants. A high-caliber lineup of top Moroccan athletes and leading international runners is expected to compete, as noted by the sources.
Thanks to exceptional mobilization from local authorities, clubs and athletes from all provinces in the Casablanca-Settat region will also be involved in this edition. Positioned at the crossroads of Africa and Europe, Casablanca possesses all the advantages needed to host a marathon worthy of its status as a major international metropolis, further enhancing its allure and influence through sports.
