On Tuesday, the fifth session of the Global Initiative for Supporting Implementation (GISS) commenced in Marrakech, attracting a wide array of government officials, representatives from international organizations and financial institutions, as well as key experts from the global aviation industry. This significant event is organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), under the auspices of King Mohammed VI, and will run until April 16, 2023, under the theme “Regional Solutions, Global Benefits.”
The GISS conference serves as a strategic platform aimed at enhancing international cooperation and promoting the implementation of standards and policies set forth by the International Civil Aviation Organization. This initiative aligns with the overarching goal of ensuring that no country is left behind in the global aviation transformation.
The agenda for this pivotal event includes a ministerial roundtable and several sessions that will address critical issues such as air connectivity, aviation safety with the ambitious target of achieving zero fatalities, funding for aviation projects, strengthening regional mechanisms, advancing airport infrastructure, and developing human competencies within the industry.
