GNV Hosts Travel Agency Summit in Marrakech
In a significant event marking the seventh edition of the GNV Awards, GNV, a maritime transport company under the Italian MSC group, gathered its partner travel agencies in Marrakech. The event, held over the weekend, saw participation from approximately 120 representatives from various Italian and international travel agencies. This annual gathering is dedicated to the company’s business partners, primarily aimed at recognizing agencies that have demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the year.
Impressive Growth and Future Plans
During the 2026 edition of the event, GNV also introduced new agencies that have joined its "Elite Partner" and "Elite Premium" categories, part of a program initiated in 2017 that provides selected agencies with exclusive benefits. Additionally, GNV shared its results for the first nine months of 2026, revealing that it transported around 2.2 million passengers, marking a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The company also reported a growth in freight transport, moving 1.84 million linear meters of cargo in the first nine months of 2026, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 5%.
The notable performance is attributed to varying market demands, with GNV emphasizing that Morocco is one of its most dynamic markets, both in terms of tourism and trade, as well as connections with Moroccan communities residing in Europe. The Marrakech event also served as a platform for the company to announce the names of four new ships that will join its fleet: GNV Jupiter, GNV Mars, GNV Venus, and GNV Mercury, all of which will operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Founded in 1992, GNV currently boasts a fleet of 29 vessels and operates 33 routes across eight countries, including Morocco, Italy, Spain, France, Tunisia, Algeria, Albania, and Malta.
