Celebrating a Decade of Artistic Expression
The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad is set to host a remarkable collective exhibition titled "Traces on Shores" from March 26 to April 25, 2026, at the Rivages Space in Rabat. This event marks the 10th anniversary of the Rivages Space, a venue dedicated to showcasing the talents of Moroccan artists residing outside the country. The exhibition will officially open on March 26, 2026, at 6 PM, with the presence of several participating artists who will contribute to this significant cultural celebration.
Established in 2016, the Rivages Space aims to provide visibility and recognition to artists creating beyond Moroccan borders. It serves as a platform to enhance cultural connections between Morocco and its global artistic community. The upcoming exhibition will feature a diverse collection from the Hassan II Foundation, showcasing the works of sixty artists who have exhibited at Rivages over the past decade. These artists hail from various countries, including France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Russia, Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
Diverse Artistic Perspectives
The exhibition "Traces on Shores" highlights the rich tapestry of artistic expressions, celebrating the dynamic and pluralistic nature of contemporary Moroccan art created abroad. It features both established artists and emerging creators, each bringing unique forms of contemporary expression to the forefront. By illuminating these works, the foundation aims to foster a deeper understanding of the vibrant artistic scene that reflects a crucial aspect of Moroccan cultural presence on the international stage.
Among the notable participants are artists such as Mohamed Aaouina, Bouchra Khnafou, Aymane Bufrakech, Rachid Bouhamidi, and many others, each contributing to the exhibition's narrative of diversity and creativity. Through this initiative, the Hassan II Foundation seeks to promote awareness of the invaluable contributions these artists make, further enriching the cultural dialogue between Morocco and its diaspora.
