Health Authorities Conduct Inspection of Bakery in Marrakech, Seizing Unsafe Food Products

In a concerted effort to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations, a monitoring committee comprised of local authorities, representatives from the Economic Affairs Department of the Marrakech-Safi region, and officials from the National Office for Food Safety conducted a thorough inspection of a bakery located in the Jbilat neighborhood of the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali district in Marrakech on Thursday.

According to informed sources, this operation resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of food products intended for sale. The authorities confiscated approximately 120 kilograms of ready-made pastries, 90 kilograms of bread, and around 100 kilograms of flour. Additionally, the raid uncovered various utensils and equipment used in the preparation of baked goods and pastries, as well as raw materials involved in the manufacturing process. Other goods suspected of not meeting established health standards were also seized.

The data indicates that this raid was prompted by a complaint received by the relevant authorities, which alleged violations within the bakery and a failure to adhere to basic health safety and food quality standards. As of now, no information has been disclosed regarding the measures that will be taken against the owner of the establishment or the ultimate fate of the confiscated food products.
