Severe Weather Conditions Forecasted Across Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an urgent weather advisory indicating that several regions of Morocco will experience a heatwave accompanied by thunderstorms and hail from today, Saturday, until next Tuesday. The alert, categorized as "orange" on the warning scale, highlights that temperatures are expected to soar between 42 and 46 degrees Celsius in areas such as Assa-Zag, Tata, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, Awsard, Smara, and Zagora during this period.

Moreover, temperatures ranging from 38 to 42 degrees Celsius are anticipated from today until Monday in various provinces, including Taounate, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fkih Ben Saleh, Meknes, Khénifra, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Taroudant, Guelmim, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, and Kalat Sraghna. Additionally, starting from tomorrow, Sunday, until Monday, cities like Salé, Essaouira, Kenitra, Berrechid, Benslimane, Larache, Chichaoua, and others will also witness similar temperature rises.

The meteorological department has cautioned citizens about the possibility of thunderstorms bringing rainfall amounts between 15 and 25 millimeters, along with hail and strong winds, particularly today from 2 PM until 11 PM in the provinces of Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, and Khénifra. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this extreme weather event.
