The 4th Edition of IMINIG Festival: A Tribute to Moroccan Migration
In honor of the National Migrant Day, the Association Atelier Ayouz for Culture and Arts has announced the upcoming 4th edition of the IMINIG Festival, which is set to take place from August 8 to 11, 2026, in Agadir. This year's theme, "A Century of Migration," pays tribute to a hundred years of Moroccan migration history, shedding light on a human journey that has profoundly influenced the contemporary narrative of the Kingdom. From the initial departures of Moroccans to Europe in the 1920s to the establishment of new generations across the globe, migration has emerged as a vital driver of economic, social, and cultural development, while also enhancing Morocco's international standing.
A Rich Program of Culture, Memory, and Reflection
The IMINIG Festival aspires to be more than just an artistic gathering; it aims to be a platform for dialogue, memory, and contemplation dedicated to migratory journeys, diverse identities, and the connections linking Moroccans worldwide to their homeland. The festival's activities will be hosted in several iconic locations throughout Agadir, including Place Tamri (Talborjt), the Aït Souss Promenade, Sahara Cinema, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Souss-Massa region, and the Olhao Garden.
