Notable American officials present at the inauguration included Christopher Landau, the United States Assistant Secretary of State, Duke Buchan III, the U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, and Marissa Scott, the U.S. Consul General in Casablanca. During the ceremony, Mr. Landau expressed his pride in the new consulate, emphasizing that it represents a lasting symbol of the enduring ties between the United States and Morocco. He remarked, "I could not be happier and prouder of the inauguration of this new complex. It beautifully represents the friendship between our two nations," while also highlighting Morocco's numerous strengths and its increasing attractiveness to foreign investors.

Mr. Buchan III reiterated the significance of the consulate as a symbol of nearly 250 years of friendship between the two countries. He asserted, "Morocco is a friend of the United States, an ally, and a partner. It is our oldest, strongest, and most reliable ally in the region." Furthermore, he reaffirmed his country's support for Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, stressing the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The new consulate, covering nearly 2.7 hectares and representing an investment of over $350 million, reflects the interconnected nature of U.S.-Morocco relations through its design, which harmoniously blends American aesthetics with Moroccan tradition. The interior of the complex showcases a carefully curated collection of Moroccan and American artworks, filling the space with color, texture, and cultural dialogue. Each piece serves to evoke shared values and the richness of both societies.
