International Conference on Digital Media
On March 25-26, 2026, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fes will host an international conference entitled "Digital Media and Society: Future and Challenges." This significant event is organized by the Laboratory of Literary Studies, Linguistics, Media, and Communication Sciences. The conference aims to address crucial topics surrounding the implications of digital media on society while gathering esteemed scholars and experts from various Moroccan and international institutions, including those from the UAE and Egypt.
The conference program includes an inaugural session followed by four scientific sessions, during which 30 scholarly papers will be presented. These presentations will delve into various aspects of digital media, including its relationship with citizenship, public opinion formation, artificial intelligence, societal values, media misinformation, media education, international public opinion management, socialization transformations, political awareness, freedom of expression, professional oversight challenges, media platforms, and Morocco's geopolitical project challenges. Additionally, the event will explore the evolution of media professions within Morocco and institutional communication strategies.
It is noteworthy that the Laboratory of Literary Studies, Linguistics, Media, and Communication Sciences has a strong focus on media ethics, professional communication education, communication skills, and techniques. Furthermore, the lab has previously conducted numerous conferences that cover a wide range of topics related to media, communication, literary critique, and the arts. Recently, they published a book titled "Advocating for the Moroccan Sahara amid International and Regional Transformations," under the direction of Dr. Mohamed Al-Qasmi, a professor at the Faculty of Arts in Fes.
