Investigative Proceedings Launched Over Alleged Misconduct in Security Directorate

On Friday, the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Fez initiated a judicial inquiry regarding a complaint filed by the General Directorate of National Security. This complaint, presented by the Directorate of Equipment and Budget, raises suspicions of irregularities and transgressions that could potentially lead to legal accountability for actions punishable under the penal code. The Directorate of Equipment and Budget, being the central authority responsible for preparing and executing the budget of the General Directorate of National Security, as well as managing real and movable assets and maintaining facilities, has raised concerns regarding specific incidents that may warrant further scrutiny.

The inquiry was referred for judicial examination on the same day it was received to investigate the nature of the alleged irregularities and transgressions, as well as to clarify all circumstances surrounding the case. It is anticipated that preliminary investigative actions will commence in the coming period under the oversight of the competent public prosecutor's office, aimed at uncovering the truth regarding the reported incidents and determining accountability, consequently imposing the necessary legal consequences based on the findings of the investigations.
