Strengthening Ties at the Marrakech Airshow

A delegation from the Israeli Air Force has made a significant mark by participating in the Marrakech Airshow, marking the first official presence of Jerusalem at this event since the signing of the trilateral agreement between Morocco, the United States, and Israel on December 22, 2020. This historic participation underscores the evolving dynamics of international defense cooperation, as reported by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces.

During the event, the Chief Colonel of the training department held a private meeting with the Commander of the Royal Air Force. Reports indicate that the two officials engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering strategic ties and ensuring the continuity of collaboration between their respective air forces, highlighting a mutual interest in enhancing defense capabilities.

Showcasing Advanced Defense Technologies

Eight Israeli defense companies showcased cutting-edge technologies that have been described as proven in combat situations. Their offerings included advanced tracking munitions, AI-driven robotic systems, autonomous navigation capabilities for drones, laser guidance for FPV drones, and satellite communication solutions.

Five of these companies exhibited their innovations at the national pavilion. Among them, Asio Technologies has developed navigation and command systems that remain operational even when GPS signals are compromised. Orbit Communication Systems specializes in satellite communication terminals suitable for land, sea, and air platforms.

Shilat Optronics is recognized for its development of optronic systems, including laser guidance for munitions and drones. Meanwhile, UVision produces the Hero loitering munitions, which are kamikaze drones that patrol an area before striking their designated targets. XTEND is known for its tactical drones equipped with artificial intelligence, including FPV drones and loitering munitions.

The presence of Israel's three leading defense groups also highlighted the event. Elbit Systems, the prominent private sector leader, specializes in land systems, drones, and optronics. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), a state-owned enterprise, manufactures aircraft, satellites, drones, and radar systems. Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, also state-owned, is renowned for its Iron Dome system and Spike missile, offering solutions across air, land, maritime, space, intelligence, cyber, and digital domains.
