Eight Israeli companies specializing in defense and aerospace industries are preparing to participate in the upcoming Marrakech Air Show, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 10. This collective participation marks a significant first, coordinated by the Israeli Ministry of Defense in collaboration with Moroccan authorities. The participating companies aim to leverage this platform as a means to penetrate new markets across the African continent.
The Israeli pavilion will feature three major companies that have established supply records with the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. Leading the charge is Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), known for developing the advanced air defense system "Barak MX." IAI's partnership with Morocco extends to industrial cooperation and scientific research in collaboration with the International University of Rabat. Additionally, the Israeli delegation includes Elbit Systems, which supplies the "PULS" rocket launchers and the "Atmos 2000" artillery system, alongside Rafael, known for its "Spyder" air defense system.
Furthermore, five other Israeli companies will be making their debut at the air show with the intention of entering the Moroccan and regional markets. These companies—UVision, Xtend, Asio Technologies, Shilat, and Orbit Technologies—specialize in providing technological solutions that encompass loitering munitions (suicide drones), tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), laser-guided systems, satellite communications, and technologies for countering GPS jamming.
The four days of the air show are anticipated to feature meetings between representatives of these companies and participating military delegations, focusing on exploring collaboration opportunities and showcasing the latest defense technologies.
