José Luis ‘Pipo’ Rodríguez Shines in Africa, Prepares for Titan Forest Patagonia 2026 Challenge

The Titan Desert Morocco concluded on May 1st, wrapping up six grueling days of competition amidst the majestic Atlas Mountains and the rugged Erfoud desert. This prestigious event crowned Spain's Luis Ángel Maté and the Netherlands' Tessa Kortekaas as the overall champions, each showcasing remarkable endurance and skill throughout the race.

Maté, a former WorldTour cyclist with six appearances in the Tour de France, claimed his second title in the Titan World Series, having previously triumphed at the Titan Forest Patagonia held in southern Chile last November. Meanwhile, Kortekaas solidified her dominance in this challenging format by achieving her sixth victory in Titan World Series events, making history by finishing seventh overall among nearly 500 competitors, an impressive feat that underscores her exceptional talent.

Among the many noteworthy stories from this year's edition in Morocco, one name stood out prominently: José Luis “Pipo” Rodríguez from Chile. In his debut at the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco, Rodríguez consistently ranked among the top 20 racers, demonstrating fierce competitiveness and making notable attacks, particularly during the second and sixth stages of the event. His performance not only represented a personal milestone in one of the toughest mountain biking competitions globally but also brought significant recognition to the Chilean Patagonia on the international stage. The event in Morocco served as an ideal precursor to the upcoming Titan World Series event in Chile.

Looking ahead, the spotlight now shifts to the Titan Forest Patagonia 2026, scheduled for November 2-5 in Villa Cerro Castillo. This breathtaking locale in Patagonia will once again host one of the most demanding and spectacular events on the global mountain biking calendar. With his impressive showing in Africa, Pipo Rodríguez has not only reaffirmed his competitive prowess against the international elite but has also sparked excitement for the upcoming Chilean edition, where Patagonia will emerge once more as a premier destination for adventure and top-level sports.
