Experience the Laughter of ‘Kamillu bil-Lieva’

The esteemed Għaqda Drammatika Rabat is set to launch its theatrical season with a delightful comedy titled ‘Kamillu bil-Lieva,’ penned by the talented Emmanuel Francalanza. This production is uniquely set against the backdrop of the early 1940s during World War II, a time when the British Governor introduced emergency conscription for able-bodied Maltese men. These men were required to register for immediate military service to bolster Malta’s defenses against enemy threats. Among those who answered the call was Kamillu Deguara, a young illiterate farmer who, despite his eagerness to serve his country with utmost integrity, found himself ill-suited for military life. This predicament leads him into a series of humorous situations intertwined with romantic entanglements. Nevertheless, Kamillu, characterized by his unwavering spirit, ultimately emerges triumphant.

Under the direction of Joe Borg, this comedic production features a talented cast, including Paolo Borg as Kamillu Deguara, alongside Leanne Bugeja, Mark O’Neill, Jean Paul Muscat, Valerian Muscat, Kenneth Spiteri, Marlon Sammut, Kaiden Farrugia, Ivan Galea, Jan Buttigieg, Kurt Buttigieg, Kaya Grech, Daniela Falzon, Paula May Galea, and Alex Muscat.
