Kicking Off GITEX Africa Morocco: A Major Tech and Business Event

Today, Tuesday, the fourth edition of the "GITEX Africa Morocco" exhibition commenced in Marrakech, marking the largest technological and entrepreneurial event of its kind on the continent. The event is witnessing the participation of 50,000 attendees and over 1,450 exhibitors representing 130 countries.

The opening session of this significant event, organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, featured a keynote address from Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, alongside members of the government, national and international investors, public institution representatives, speakers, and dignitaries from various sectors.

"GITEX Africa Morocco 2026," organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform in partnership with the Digital Development Agency and "Crown International," a branch of the Dubai World Trade Centre, serves as a major platform for African collaboration. Its goal is to expedite the adoption of impactful digital solutions capable of laying the groundwork for the continent's economic resilience in the future.

This year, the exhibition is held under the theme "Stimulating the African Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," introducing new sectoral spaces and enhancing various hubs in line with the continent's most dynamic technological priorities.

Among the notable innovations this edition showcases are smart infrastructure for data centers, aimed at addressing the structural needs that continue to hinder the development of Africa's digital economy. Additionally, a space dedicated to financial technology and the future of finance highlights mobile payment solutions and financial inclusion supported by artificial intelligence and cross-border payment systems.

The program also includes a dedicated area for future mobility, showcasing the latest innovations in electric, autonomous, and connected transport. Furthermore, a sports technology hub presents smart sports infrastructure, performance enhancement technologies for athletes, and new forms of audience interaction.

Once again, "GITEX Africa Morocco" emphasizes cybersecurity with a specialized program prepared in partnership with Morocco's General Directorate for Information System Security.
