Significant Religious Observance in Rabat
On March 16, 2026, a solemn ceremony commemorating Laylat Al-Qadr took place in the Moroccan capital of Rabat, coinciding with the 26th night of Ramadan in the year 1447 of the Hijri calendar. Following the prayers, Mustapha Zamehna, the President of the Regional Council of Ulema of Beni Mellal-Khenifra, delivered a reading of "Hadith Al-Khatm," while the conclusion of Sahih Al-Bukhari was presented by Idriss Ben Daouia, the President of the Local Council of Ulema of Larache. The ceremony also featured a moving recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Zaid El Bakkali, a ten-year-old prodigy from Salé, who was honored with the Child Memorizer of the Holy Quran Prize, a testament to the King's dedication to nurturing the next generation of Quranic reciters.
In addition to this, the King awarded the Mohammed VI Ahl Al-Qur’an and Ahl Al-Hadith Prizes to Ahmed Talha from Fez and Adnane Zhar from El Jadida, respectively. Furthermore, the prestigious Mohammed VI Prize for Quranic schools was distributed in three categories, recognizing Abdellatif Jalal of El Youssoufia for the Methodology of Learning, Marzouk Ait Amran of Chefchaouen for Performance, and Abdellatif Ibouha of Chichaoua for Management. The evening culminated with the presentation of the Mohammed VI Prize for Adhan and Tahlil, which included the Excellence Prize awarded to Abderrahmane Benbakka from Marrakech and the Honorary Prize given to Mohamed Battout from Mohammedia.
