L'Boulevard, one of Morocco's most celebrated music festivals, successfully gathered an impressive crowd of 75,000 attendees at the R.U.C. Stadium in Casablanca from September 17 to 20, marking its 24th edition. This year's festival featured over 33 artists and bands from various countries, including Morocco, France, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria, and Belgium, showcasing a rich diversity of musical genres ranging from rap and rock to metal, electronic music, dub, soul, and hybrid styles.
The festival's programming focused heavily on rap and hip-hop, attracting a large audience. DJ Mikebeatz23 kicked off the performances, followed by notable acts such as Bo9al, DJ Fly, Figoshin, and Dizzy Dros, who made a triumphant return with a live band after his previous performances in 2013 and 2019. The Moroccan scene shone brightly with performances from artists like Rhita Nattah, Bab L’Bluz, and Issam Kamal & Mazagan, captivating the audience with their energetic displays.
On the rock and metal front, the crowd was thrilled by performances from Mycose of You, Suicide Machine, and Sotherion, the latter being the winners of the Tremplin 2015 competition. The festival also celebrated the return of Sepultura, which had not performed at L'Boulevard for 16 years, as part of their farewell world tour.
The closing night featured an exciting lineup, including Remork & Karkaba, Bnat Bambara, Omar EK, Aziz Konkrite, Kin’Gongolo Kiniata, and Sarāb, culminating in a reggae-dub performance by Zentone that left the audience wanting more. The Tremplin competition, held from September 17 to 19, showcased 15 emerging artists and bands. Shinohidden and BrownY Original were awarded in the Rap/Hip-Hop category, while Metrotune and Arinass excelled in Fusion/Other Modern Music, and Lixivia and Darih stood out in Rock/Metal. Each of the six winners will receive financial prizes, a week of training, and the opportunity to record a track at Studio HIBA. Since its inception in 1999, Tremplin has welcomed over 765 Moroccan musical groups, highlighting its crucial role in promoting local talent.
