LEAD Launches Second Class of Public Decision-Makers in Rabat
LEAD, a renowned pan-African leadership initiative spearheaded by the Africa CEO Forum, has recently announced the commencement of its second class in Rabat, Morocco. This significant announcement follows the successful evaluation of its inaugural cohort, which laid the groundwork for a transformative approach to public governance across the continent. The new class is scheduled to convene from August 28 to August 30, 2026, at the esteemed Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). This initiative is part of a broader effort aimed at instilling excellence in public governance, a crucial component in the ongoing drive to catalyze Africa's transformation.
The second cohort will comprise 50 distinguished fellows, all of whom are senior public decision-makers actively involved in shaping and implementing the continent's economic and social policies. Over the span of three days, these participants will engage in collaborative working sessions and peer exchanges, fostering a rich environment for networking and learning. They will also meet with prominent figures from various sectors, including business and academia, to discuss and develop shared strategies for addressing critical governance challenges facing the continent.
Among the notable speakers for this session are Mehdi Jomaa, the former Head of Government of Tunisia, Donald Kaberuka, the Managing Partner and Founder of SouthBridge Group and former President of the African Development Bank, and Serge Ekue, among other influential leaders. The LEAD program, established by the Africa CEO Forum, is designed to reposition Africa’s administrative elite as proactive agents of reform and effective dialogue with stakeholders across the continent. This initiative promises to elevate the caliber of public governance in Africa, driving performance and fostering sustainable development.
