Maison Skalli Expands with New Short North Location Opening Soon

Maison Skalli Set to Open Second Location in Short North

Maison Skalli, a beloved restaurant known for its exquisite French-inspired baked goods and hearty brunch offerings, is gearing up to open its second location on April 11. This new venue will be situated at 622 N. High St. in the vibrant Short North area, as announced through a recent social media post by the business. Owned and expertly operated by the Esskalli family, the restaurant has quickly gained a reputation for its delicate cookies and indulgent croissants, making it a must-visit for pastry lovers.

The original Maison Skalli location, located at 2746 Festival Lane, features a menu that beautifully reflects the Esskalli family's Moroccan heritage. Signature dishes include the Maison Skalli Breakfast, which consists of a traditional egg tagine served alongside refreshing mint tea, elegantly presented on a silver tray. Additionally, guests can enjoy a variety of other delectable options such as crepes, quiche, and classic French toast.

Previously, Maison Skalli attempted to establish a second location at Mill Run; however, it was short-lived, closing after just one month. At that time, the Esskalli family expressed their desire to find a new space that would provide an even warmer and more inviting dining experience for their guests. The upcoming Short North location aims to fulfill this vision, with both venues operating daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Exciting Developments in the Culinary Scene

In addition to the opening of Maison Skalli, the culinary landscape in the area is also seeing the expansion of Martha's Fusion Kitchen, a Mexican restaurant specializing in birria. Martha's has recently launched a second location at 4502 Cemetery Road in Hilliard, with hours of operation set from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. Founded in January 2021 by Martha Armenta, a native of Guanajuato, Mexico, and her business partner Jose Zacatelco, Martha's began as a take-out restaurant and quickly garnered acclaim, being recognized as a 2022 Best New Restaurant by Columbus Monthly. Since then, its original location has undergone renovations to accommodate dine-in customers, further enhancing the dining experience for its patrons.
