Significant Drug Seizure in Essaouira
In a recent operation conducted by law enforcement in Essaouira, Moroccan authorities successfully confiscated a staggering 3,690 pills of an illicit substance, along with 11 kilograms of hashish and an additional 120 grams of cocaine. This operation led to the arrest of two individuals, a 41-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, who are suspected of being involved in the possession and distribution of narcotics and psychoactive substances. The operation was coordinated by the Regional Judicial Police in Marrakech, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, and was part of ongoing investigations into drug trafficking activities.
The female suspect was apprehended as she arrived in Essaouira via a passenger bus, where a thorough search revealed the aforementioned quantities of drugs concealed in her possession. Subsequently, further inquiries and investigations allowed authorities to identify a second suspect linked to the case, who was also arrested in Essaouira. During his arrest, he was found in possession of a sum of money suspected to be derived from drug-related activities.
Both suspects have been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, aimed at uncovering all circumstances surrounding the case, determining the origins of the seized drugs, and mapping out the potential networks involved in this illicit activity.
