In a coordinated effort by the local judicial police in Marrakech and the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, authorities successfully apprehended a 23-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman on Friday evening. The duo is suspected of being involved in a case concerning the possession and trafficking of illicit drugs and psychoactive substances.

The female suspect was detained in Essaouira shortly after her arrival on a passenger bus, where police discovered 3,690 ecstasy pills, 11 kilograms of hashish, and 120 grams of cocaine in her possession. This significant seizure underscores the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.

Further investigations led to the identification of a second individual believed to be involved in this criminal activity. He was also arrested in Essaouira, and authorities found cash linked to the proceeds of their illegal actions. Both suspects are currently undergoing judicial scrutiny under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor's office, aiming to uncover all circumstances surrounding this case and to identify any other potential links to organized crime.
