On September 3, 2026, the Regional Service for the Fight Against Organized Crime (SRLCO) in Oran successfully intercepted over 67 kilograms of processed cannabis originating from Morocco. This operation led to the arrest of an individual connected to a transnational organized crime network, alongside the seizure of a firearm - a 9mm pistol - and live ammunition.

This significant enforcement action was executed following extensive field investigations conducted by the SRLCO detectives. The operation thwarted an attempt to smuggle a substantial drug shipment concealed within a tourist vehicle, aimed at one of the western provinces of the country. Authorities managed to detain a suspect from this criminal network and recover three tourist vehicles utilized in the illegal activities, along with a cash sum estimated at around half a billion Algerian dinars from the proceeds of these criminal endeavors.

The apprehended individual has been presented before the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Saniyah Court in Oran, marking a critical step in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and organized crime.
