Revitalization of Casablanca's Central Market: A New Era Begins

The Central Market of Casablanca is set to undergo a significant transformation, marking a new chapter in the revitalization of this historic site. The rehabilitation contract has been awarded to the G3C company for a substantial sum of 36.6 million DH. This ambitious project aims to modernize the market while preserving its historical significance, and it will feature a rooftop area dedicated to dining.

Managed by SDL Casa Aménagement, the renovation project is designed to enhance the commercial spaces within the market, located on Boulevard Mohammed V. Spanning a period of 12 months, the renovations will include a complete restructuring of the market, standardization of shop designs, uniform signage, modernization of equipment, and improved organization of sales areas.

One of the exciting updates is the planned rooftop terrace, which will serve as a public space designed for dining. This new addition aims to create a lively atmosphere, featuring various restaurants and snack options, contributing to the commercial and tourist appeal of the Central Market. The project also encompasses the renovation of floor and wall coverings, upgrading of technical networks, installation of refrigeration systems suitable for food businesses, and enhancements to the landscaping and public spaces surrounding the site.

This comprehensive rehabilitation initiative not only seeks to modernize the market but also to ensure that it remains a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists, blending heritage preservation with contemporary conveniences.
