In a remarkable display of its enduring allure, Marrakech has recorded an impressive total of 3.218 million overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation establishments (EHTC) by the end of March 2026. This figure marks an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2025, highlighting the city’s resilience and popularity as a premier travel destination. The occupancy rate for these establishments stood at a robust 68% at the close of March, maintaining a stable level in comparison to the previous year, as reported by the latest data from the Tourism Observatory.

This surge in visitor numbers reinforces Marrakech's position as Morocco's leading tourist destination at the conclusion of the first quarter of 2026. On a national scale, classified tourist accommodations across Morocco recorded nearly 9.85 million overnight stays in the first three months of the year, reflecting a 10% rise compared to the same timeframe in 2025.
