The second day of the Marrakech Air Show 2026 witnessed the signing of five significant industrial partnerships between Morocco and various national and international players. These agreements are expected to create 950 direct jobs while enhancing Morocco's capabilities in precision machining, electrical wiring, surface treatment, and defense industries.

Strategic Partnerships for Growth

On October 8, 2026, during the ongoing 8th edition of the Marrakech Air Show, which runs from October 7 to 10, numerous industrial partnerships were formalized with leading global aerospace entities. These collaborations are anticipated to fortify the growth momentum of Morocco's aerospace industry.

The first agreement was a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), and Mecapole Aerospace and Defense. This initiative aims to develop capabilities related to precision machining of aerospace parts for both aircraft and helicopters, representing an investment of €10 million and the creation of 80 direct jobs. The signatories assert that this project will enhance high-value-added industrial activities and further diversify the skill sets within Morocco's aerospace ecosystem.

A second MOU, executed between the same ministry, AMDIE, and Matis Aerospace, focuses on establishing an industrial unit dedicated to manufacturing aerospace electrical wiring. This venture entails an investment of $16.5 million and is projected to generate 750 direct jobs by 2030.

The third agreement, signed by the Ministry, AMDIE, and Autolubrification Produits de Synthèse (APS Coating), outlines the establishment of a surface treatment unit for aerospace components. This initiative involves an investment of €18 million and is expected to create 120 direct jobs. According to the signatories, this activity is a vital link in the aerospace value chain, particularly concerning the protection, finishing, and performance of components.

Exploring New Horizons in Aerospace

The fourth agreement, inked between AMDIE, the Moroccan Group of Aerospace and Space Industries (GIMAS), and Korea Aerospace Industries, aims to establish a framework for exploring new opportunities for industrial cooperation in Morocco's aerospace sector. This framework particularly opens avenues for industrial partnerships, supplier development, and the identification of future investment opportunities.

The fifth and final agreement involves a collaboration between three companies: ND Defense (USA), MZ Automotive (Morocco), and Demarko (Poland). This partnership seeks to develop industrial opportunities in the areas of defense mobility, specialized vehicle integration, and logistics solutions for heavy equipment.
