Marrakech Police Officer Victimized by Theft, Suspect Apprehended Quickly
In a remarkable turn of events, the security forces of the second precinct, known as "Qchich," in the fifth district of the Marrakech police department successfully cracked the case of a theft involving one of their own. On Sunday, August 2, 2026, a police officer reported that she had been the victim of a pickpocketing incident in the bustling markets of the old city, losing a sum close to 3,000 dirhams.
Upon receiving her complaint, the police swiftly intensified their investigative efforts. They managed to identify the perpetrator shortly thereafter and apprehended him in the Asoul neighborhood. The suspect, known as "Suwisa," born in 1996 and with a history of previous offenses, was found in possession of the stolen amount, which was subsequently recovered. Following the arrest, a report was filed, and he was transferred to the judicial police for further questioning and investigation.
