Marrakech Set to Host Gitex Africa 2026
Marrakech is gearing up to host the highly anticipated fourth edition of Gitex Africa Morocco, scheduled for April 2026. This significant technological event is expected to attract a robust attendance from startups, technology experts, and investors from various corners of the globe. The exhibition is not merely a showcase of innovation; it represents a confluence of ideas and opportunities aimed at driving the digital transformation across Africa.
Among the key initiatives to be launched at this edition is the Morocco 300 program, overseen by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform in partnership with the Digital Development Agency. This initiative aims to support 300 startups with financing that can reach up to 95%, expanding from the previous iterations that were limited to funding only 200 companies. This increase signifies a strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation within the region.
This year, the exhibition is expected to welcome approximately 1,000 startups from around the world, providing them with a platform to present their projects to international investors in pursuit of funding and growth. In addition to the presentations, the event will feature the Supernova competition, which is one of the most prominent activities championing innovation in the startup ecosystem.
Focus Areas and New Programs
The exhibition will be organized around three primary themes. The first is artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, where dedicated spaces will showcase the latest digital solutions and technologies related to data protection. The second theme revolves around cloud computing and data centers, which have become fundamental pillars of digital transformation in Africa. The third focus area will spotlight specialized technological sectors, including a new segment on Future Mobility. Here, international companies will unveil their innovations in electric and hybrid vehicles, along with technologies related to transportation management and urban mobility.
Additionally, this edition will introduce new programs such as Future of Work (FLEX) and EduTech, aimed at discussing the shifts occurring in the realms of work and education amidst digital advancements. A dedicated platform for small and medium-sized tech enterprises (PME Tech) will also be established to assist these companies in accelerating their digital transformation and expanding into international markets.
The upcoming Gitex Africa Morocco 2026 is expected to see a significant African presence, with several countries, including Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Tunisia, participating through national pavilions that will showcase dozens of startups. Furthermore, European institutions interested in innovation will also be in attendance, further enriching the dialogue and collaboration opportunities.
Gitex Africa Morocco 2026 will take place from April 7 to 9 in Marrakech, which has evolved into a prominent African hub for technology and innovation in recent years.
