Marrakech to Host the Fourth Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region
Marrakech is set to host the fourth session of the Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf region on June 19 and 20. This significant event is held under royal patronage, initiated by the House of Councillors in collaboration with the Mediterranean Parliament and in partnership with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, the World Bank Parliamentary Network, and the International Monetary Fund.
The organization of this session continues the momentum established by the forum since its inception, aimed at enhancing dialogue and consultation among parliamentarians, decision-makers, economic actors, and representatives of regional and international financial and economic institutions. This collaborative effort focuses on shared economic and developmental issues of mutual interest.
According to a statement from the House of Councillors, the forum will address several priority topics, including global economic challenges, prospects for regional economic integration, and the promotion of investment in artificial intelligence and modern technologies. The discussions will also explore ways to enhance sustainable job opportunities and tackle the impacts of climate change on food security and sustainable development.
Additionally, this session will feature a special session dedicated to Africa, themed "The African Continental Free Trade Area and Connecting Euro-African Value Chains: Towards an Integrated Space for Joint Production, Investment, and Economic Resilience." This session will see the participation of high-level government officials and parliamentarians.
The forum serves as a platform for dialogue and experience exchange among various stakeholders and institutions involved in economic affairs, contributing to strengthening regional cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership and investment among countries in the region.
