Marrakech Leads the Way in Affordable Travel for 2026
A recent analytical study conducted by TravelSupermarket, a leading platform for comparing travel prices, has revealed compelling insights into the cost of holidaying in Marrakech. The study particularly focused on the summer of 2026, illustrating that tourists can significantly save by opting for all-inclusive packages in three-star hotels compared to booking rooms that only include breakfast. According to the analysis, which examined prices for seven-night stays between June and August 2026, the average cost for an all-inclusive package in Marrakech stands at £348 per person (approximately €406), whereas the cost for a room with breakfast only is £479 (around €558). This represents a substantial financial saving of 26%, as the all-inclusive option covers all daily meals and beverages throughout the stay.
The results, published by The Sun, indicate that Marrakech's pricing advantage makes it the top destination in the comparison, reflecting a competitive landscape within the three-star hotel sector. Many establishments are offering comprehensive packages at lower prices to boost occupancy rates. This information emerges at a time when the British market is reinforcing its presence in Marrakech's tourism scene, attracting an increasing number of British visitors.
However, the analysts caution against viewing these prices as fixed, clarifying that the differences noted pertain to average offers available during the examined period. Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as travel dates, hotel selection, departure airport, and the services included in the package. Interestingly, only two other destinations exhibited similar pricing discrepancies in the study; in Malta, the average holiday package is £518 compared to £565 for breakfast-only accommodation, while in Egypt, the difference is minimal at just £9, with prices of £605 and £614 respectively.
In other destinations, the all-inclusive model tends to be more expensive, with variances such as an increase of around €8 in Bodrum, €17 in Phuket, and €23 in Antalya, escalating to approximately €59 in Sri Lanka. The gap widens significantly in some European locations, where the average price for an all-inclusive package in Sardinia reaches £1,873 per person, compared to just £818 for breakfast-inclusive stays. Similarly, in Athens, the all-inclusive cost is £1,079, while breakfast-only accommodations are only £610.
These findings position Marrakech as a prime holiday destination that combines affordability with a rich cultural experience, making it an appealing choice for travelers seeking value without compromising on quality.
